I know, I know - I haven't been overly friendly about vegan products in the past, because I thought it was a trend taken too far. But a lot of my friends have gone to the green side, and they all seem happy and healthy, so I think there's something to be said for all natural cosmetics, as well as food.
And one of my good friends has asked me a few times about beauty brands with a vegan claim, so I've been doing a bit of research, and I came across these body scrubs from Aussie brand, Buddy Scrub.

I'm guessing it's quite a tough industry, if you're a scrub brand, because how can you compete with the likes of Frank Body? Who's products I do love. But it's beauty's latest love, and scrubs are everywhere, so when I was trying these out, I wasn't expecting to be thrilled.
But I really am. I don't think I thought about how amazing a scrub could smell, or how many raw ingredients you can pack into them.
So here's what you need to know about this Buddy duo..

The scrub base is sea salt and sugar, and then they add in the extra ingredients. This version has green tea, coconut oil, jojoba oil and grape seed oil - which are all packed with nutrients to make your skin super soft.
They even say that using this scrub weekly, can help to reduce eczema-prone skin, blemishes and stretch marks. And from using it for a good few weeks now, I can see a difference in the tone of my skin - especially on my arms, which tend to get very dry and blotchy.
I've had a look at the ingredient list to check there's no nasty preservatives, but it really is one of the most natural scrubs I've seen - which is why I think it smells so amazing - because you actually get to smell the real coconut and green tea, instead of synthetic perfumes.

A similar base to the green tea version, but this one has brown sugar and sea salt, which is why the scrub itself looks all brown and chocolatey! Again, it has coconut oil, jojoba oil and sweet almond oil - so when you buff it on your skin and rinse it off, it still leaves a lovely buttery (but not sticky) feel.
The smell, I can only describe, as melted chocolate. It is just so amazing - and unlike the Frank Body scrubs, which again, I LOVE, this isn't made of coffee, so it doesn't leave your shower looking quite so, err...muddy.

A few extra notes...
// The scrubs contain nut oils, so please we aware of that if you have an allergy //
// They suggest using a scrub once or twice a week. Any more and you'll have no skin left! //
// The scrubs come in bags - make sure you seal them after to keep the scrub fresh //
// Don't keep the bags in your shower or the mix will go clumpy if it gets wet! //

I'll be recommending these to my vegan (and non-vegan) buddies, so please do give them a try, because with summer around the corner, we all need to get our skin in great condition for tanktops and tans!
Tell me what you think, and share your snaps with me @zoes.101 - I love to see your updates x
