Nars Velvet Lip Glide review & shade try-on!

I still stand by this - Nars have some of the BEST lipsticks out there. I honestly think I prefer some of their shades and textures to MAC, and these velvet lip glides have got me picking liquid formulas over sticks.
They haven't launched just yet, so you'll have to bear with me until they officially launch on their UK website on the 1st of October. The box I'm showing here has four shades, which you can buy individually for £22 each.

-13 shades in the new range
-They all have a 'hybrid' formula of a gloss and a lipstick
- Velvet cushiony texture
- Highly pigmented and long-lasting tint
- Have an 'oil infusion' complex to keep lips hydrated

I can't tell you how much I love these. Even from looking at them, I knew they'd be good. The pigment is just so strong, not watery or see-through, and the texture of them is thick and velvety.  I didn't expect them to apply the way they did, because I was waiting for the formula to dry, but it doesn't. The way it applies is the way it dries - it doesn't turn matte, but stays soft.

I'm actually really happy that NARS haven't just gone and launched another ulra-matte lipstick, these are so much more flattering and wearable. If you can't get your hands on Kylie's Lip Kits, these are awesome dupes. Not really a cheaper alternative, but you'll be able to find them across the UK without any trouble. If you're reading this from the US, I believe they already launched into Sephora last month, so you can go right out and pick one up.

I've tried out four different shades and I was impressed with them all. The one I'd say I struggled to apply neatly more than the others was the plum. It took a little more building up to get the colour even, and because it's so dark, you can see more easily when it begins to wipe off - so if you're brave enough to go purple, keep the pot on hand to top it up during the day.

My favourite shade by far is the dark nude called 'Bound'. It's honestly the most perfect pink I've found in ages. It's so good, I've given it a spot on my handbag so I can use it every day. My favourite thing about all of these is that even when the actual formula has wiped off your lips, a tint still stays for hours, so if you're busy and can't go running off to the mirror every 20 minutes, you can put this on in the morning and be sure that your lips will still look great hours later (and not have that horrible line where some of it has faded in the middle!)

Here's what they look like on...

What do you think? Will you give them a go when they launch over here?
As always, comment below if you have any more questions on the new range!
