The My Burberry Festive Collection review

My Burberry beauty festive collection 2016

Is this possibly the most gorgeous Christmas range ever? Burberry has launched a whole collection of new festive beauty offerings and they are actually perfect.
Burberry is one of those brands I have a soft spot for. When I was about 14, my mum came back from a holiday and brought me home a small bottle of the Burberry Brit fragrance. I doused myself in it for years, and whenever I smell it, it reminds me of home, and my mum. Their beauty is also pretty on-point, and their seasonal collections are usually beautiful to look at, and surprisingly practical (no weird unwearable shades!). This new range doesn't disappoint on either of those things.

We're not talking just five things here - there's around 10 new launches - from lipsticks to fragrance, so I've hand-picked my three favourites from the whole range.

- Burberry Kisses Gloss - Gold Shimmer No.124, £21
- My Burberry Limited Edition Shimmering Body Oil, £39
- Gold Touch - Gold Shimmer No.01, £25

My Burberry Gold Touch in Gold Shimmer

This little golden pot is a multi-tasking dream. It can be used on eyes, lips, or cheeks - basically anywhere you want to highlight. It doesn't look like you get a lot in the pot, but the gold is so unbelievably saturated that you only need a tiny bit. It has the consistency of a thick cream, but when you put it on your skin, it feels really silky - and not at all sticky.
I've been using it in the corners of my eyes, above my cheekbones and on my brow bones, and I swear, it just lights up my otherwise dull complexion. Very easy to blend in as well.

Give me a hair oil or a facial oil and I'm all over it. The problem I have with oils going on my skin is that they ALWAYS feel like I'm wearing an oil on my skin. A bit like sticky hand cream, I always end up just wiping it off. I've also made the mistake of wearing pretty satin dresses around Christmas and ruining them with big oil blotches from some other sprays. This one, I am pleased to announce, is nothing like the others.
Firstly, it's fragranced - which, for a lazy girl like me - is perfect, because it means that when I undoubtedly forget to spray on perfume before running out the door, I'm already covered in a lovely scent (the same as the My Burberry perfume, just lighter). Secondly, it adds a shimmer. And not a weird sparkly effect - just a lovely subtle glow that pairs beautifully over a spray tan.
Thanks to this, I'll definitely be going tights-free for my Christmas party next week.

Before you all ask: 'HOW is a gold lipstick wearable?!' - I promise, it doesn't translate super gold onto your lips. I use it one of two ways - alone, for a really pretty shimmer effect on bare lips (very slightly gold tinged), or layered over a dark nude lipstick, so that it makes the colour glossy and extra shiny. I'd normally pick a nude gloss, and the Burberry Kisses range has 30 shades in it, but for Christmas and Christmas parties, this gold is just something a little different.

And there you have it! Three beautiful picks from a very festive collection.

Also, I just want to give a shout out to the camera I used to take the snaps in this post. I just got the Olympus Pen E-PL7 (from Currys PC World) to see what all the fuss was about, and I can't tell you how much I love it. I've been taking most of my close up product shots with my trusty Canon, but I honestly think I'll be using this cam for everything now.
Has anyone got the 45mm lens for it? I'd love to know if you think it's worth buying.
