The little miracles that are the Erborian Camellia Lip Mask & 7 Herbs Lip Scrub

I don't know about you, but I use so many different products on my lips every day, that by night-time, they tend to be pretty dry and sometimes flakey (so not attractive). And the worst part is, the more I try to put balms on to take away some of the dryness, the worse they seem to get.

So unfair. Does anyone else find that or is it just me? I've tried going cold turkey on these products that are supposedly meant to help and I even tried cutting back on my lipstick use - but life without that just wasn't worth living! Which is where these two newbies from Erborian come in.

I never actually realised I wanted and/or needed a lip scrub and a lip mask - and it wasn't until I took them home to try that I realised they were exactly what my lips were looking for. They seem excessive, like a beauty product being created just because. But the thing is, if you (like me), actually get really annoyed or self conscious about a particular problem - in this case, dry lips - then we're going to be willing to pay out a little money to solve that problem. I was sent these, but I 100% can say I will be buying both of them when they run out.

If you haven't heard of the brand Erborian before, here's a little bit of background: They take Korean formulas and adapt them to fit what modern women want from skincare, and they're usually one of the first to jump on all the trends coming over from Asia (like charcoal, sheet masks and yep, lip scrubs). Price wise, they sit around The Body Shop and L'Occitane pricing - but because they back their formulas with such great ingredients and testing, they're better value than you might first think.

Erborian 7 Herbs Scrub for Lips // £17

Lip scrubs have been hot stuff this year, and there's a lot of 'em around. You can pick them up in lipstick-style packaging, or in a pot. The thing I learnt quickly about them is that the more scrubby they are (lots of exfoliating bits), doesn't actually mean the better the results. Lips are much more sensitive than your body, so scrubbing to hard might actually make them even drier - which we don't want. I really love this one because it's really quite smooth to apply, and it all begins to melt when you work it in with your finger. Even if you can't feel it getting rid of the dead skin cells, it does, and mine always feel amazingly soft after - and even better - healthier the next day. The formula is a mix of seven herbs - including green tea leaves - and it has sugar crystals for the buffing bit.

Erborian Camellia Mask for Glam Lips // £20

Masks are another 2k17 beauty buzz, so now we've covered the face in every single formulation possible, we're moving on to the lips. I use this after I've used the lip scrub (3-4 times a week), and every night before I go to sleep. I really layer it on, and I make sure it coats the skin around my lips as well, because that usually gets flakey. It might not LOOK attractive, but I've noticed they get less dry and irritated during the day now. It also feels so amazing to put on, like a hug for your lips. It's so thick, which is why I use it at night, though there's no reason you can't top up a layer or two in the day (just do a lighter coating, keeping it to the lip area only). The main ingredient is camellia which is really hydrating and soothing.

If you're treating yourself to some new products this month, these are my top recommendations (pick them up here). I'd love to know how you get on if you try them out, so drop me a line down below!
